Apalachicola - Jan 10, 2000

If I could boil my fishing report down to one word this week it would be "TROUT". Lots and lots of trout. Not any record breakers - maybe 8 or 10 keeper size a day but the sheer numbers are staggering. They have happened on a redfish or 2 and a couple of sheepshead and flounder but Trout's the word. The thing that puzzles me is the vast array of weather conditions we have experienced over the past 7 days. The beginning of last week I had to bring my plants in due to frost warnings and today began with a gullywasher, then the sun broke out about 9:30am and the fishing started and the temperature rose to about 75 degrees. Yesterday Tommy's people were too sick to handle the change in the weather (a little rain never hurt the fishing) but Chris was out all day and managed a respectable days sportfishing.

I found out that Chris was in the St. Vincent Island area on New Years Day where he and Barrs and W.C. got into some Reds and once again "A mess of trout". I am not telling where he was New Years Eve or what he was doing but if anyone got photos, let me see them. Tommy fished the marshes on Monday the 3rd and St. Vincent on Tuesday the 4th. He said the Reds were moving in ahead of the weather change. (read "Squall Line")

The Winter/Spring issue of the Robinson Brothers Newsletter is on the drawing board. Please email me with any US Mail Address changes if you didn't get your Fall copy. If you run across any good Fishin' Photos of you with the Robinson's please get them to me to add to our website.

For those of you following Tommy & Chris' hunting career - Tommy shot an 8 point buck this past week on their lease. He claims it is the camp record so far this season but you know what living in a school bus can do to ya!

Til Next Week!
