Memorial Day Weekend 2007 - May 24, 2007
After a 45 minute fight, Capt. Tommy Robinson said it was the best he'd seen. Laura sight fished this 46.5 pound arm-full using her own rod spooled with 8 pound line. Tommy, ever the skeptic, wasn't too hopeful about the outcome but Laura, a true saltwater angler, was obviously more determined than the cobia. The fish was caught from the bow of the skiff but brought on shore for the photo op. Despite the windy conditions recently all over the state of Florida, all our Flats guides have been able to find clear, calm water for their redfishing anglers to have wildly successful days sight casting in shallow water. Ya just gotta think like a Red-fish!
There's plenty to do this weekend on the Forgotten Coast, even if you aren't mad about fishing, including the American Wind Symphony Orchestra who will be performing in Battery Park at 7:30 on Sunday evening for a free waterfront concert. If you're driving up & down Hwy 98 this weekend, I'll be holding open houses at a couple of the homes we have listed in the Lanark/St. James area. Saturday I'll be at 2526 Florida Ave. and Sunday & Monday at 125 Skimmer Drive in St. James Bay Golf Course. For directions, please visit our "Other" website www.RobinsonRealEstateCompany.com - stop in and take a look if you have a minute.
Have a safe & Happy Weekend!
