Apalachicola Fishing Report - Dec 26-31, 1999 - Jan 3, 2000
It's 75 degrees & sunny with a light breeze. According to Capt. Holman, we have been seeing & catching hundreds of trout. Its January in North Florida. We are smiling!
Ever wonder what an outdoor sports writer does on vacation? He goes fishing!! Charles Gaines and his family spent the Christmas holidays on St. George Island and spent the day after Christmas with 3 of our Captains sight fishing for Redfish and hooking up on 30 to 40 Trout. They even caught sheepshead on artificials, something we don't usually see. Jim & Noreen Johnson from Cummings Georgia spent the post holidays at the Coombs House Inn and fished with Capt. Tommy on December 27th. They also caught dozens of Trout and a few Reds. Jim has already booked his Tarpon trip for July!
Capt. Chris entertained Ivor Groves & his wife (this is their 3rd trip to fish with us) and they lost count of the Trout they caught - 21 were in the 15-23" range, they caught & released 5 Redfish, a 4lb Hybrid Bass and a 3lb Largemouth Bass. Trips on 2 subsequent days were as good or better. Don't you love it when you "Lose Count" of the fish you are catching? We are blessed to live in such a wonderful area of the country and to enjoy everything it has to offer.
Happy New Year from the Robinson's!
