Memorial Day 2005 - May 30, 2005

Just a quick howdy from Apalachicola! Things are heating up here with Memorial Day marking the unofficial start of our summer season. Tarpon anglers are already casting at fish with flyrods and we expect to see them back in the bay in the next couple of weeks. Bayfishing guides reported a downswing the last few days, possibly due to the trout & redfish feeding by the light of the full moon but a recent "Moonlight" trip to an offshore wreck netted a stampede of black grouper. We haven't had any measurable rain for weeks so fresh water is not a problem. According to Capt. Nathan Donahoe, the Redfishing this May is better than it has ever been - his anglers have been catching as many as they can stand to catch.

Please note that we are booking a few more local guides than last season, including flats, bay and offshore trips so be sure to check with me even if it's last minute. (don't be shy!)
