Happy New Year! - Jan 2, 2004
Chris Troutman used his Christmas Gift Certificate from his wife to catch the first Redfish on Fly in 2004 with Capt. Tommy Robinson on January 1st.
This weekend looks nice and mild for January with daily temperatures for the next few days up to 70 degrees and not much in the way of wind. Redfish are on the flats, Stripers in the River and plenty of Speckled Trout in the bay. Capt. Chad has been wrecking the fish on the afternoon tides and Capt. Jr. counted 60 fish by lunch time earlier this week. Grouper fishing offshore has been real strong, according to Capt. Leon Teat. Tommy & Nathan went out this morning to see if they could get on them - maybe even dive in and spear a couple.
In 2 weeks Tommy, Kelsey-Belle & I head for the Keys where we hope to get some diving in before Tommy begins fishing with clients for Permit & Bonefish until the end of February. He & Chris both still have some dates open in the Keys & the Glades, so if you think you might like a little "Spring Break" from the cold weather, let me know.
