Tarpon Hugger - May 11, 2003
John Morrow (Birmingham) considers this tarpon "Caught"! (on a fly rod of course) He & his wife Carrie fished with Capt. Tommy Robinson 3 days last weekend and, well, some days are just better than others. While they didn't measure the fish, Tommy estimates it at well over 100 lbs.
We've had quite a few calls in the last couple weeks from people concerned about the excessive rain & flood water north of us. So far the only effect has possibly been temporarily to the oyster harvest. The only thing to affect our fishing is the daily local weather, which for the most part has been good. The next two weeks should provide some excellent fishing opportunities for every species whether you fish the shallow water or go offshore - the best part is tourist season hasn't really started so the boat traffic will be light.
