Fall has finally really fallen! - Nov 17, 2002
Graham Beene caught this 21 pound Redfish on October 26 with Capt. Chris Robinson. His happy friend is Damon Denney. Jeff Baker brings his group of fishing buddies down from Birmingham each October for 3 days of fun, flats fishing and fellowship(?)
I've cried wolf a couple of times already this fall but this time I'm pretty sure that FALL is FINALLY here! (just bought my first fire log as proof positive) In years past we have experienced regular cold fronts through our area beginning the end of September that positively affect the Trout & Redfish catch by pushing the bait to deeper water. We're about 2 months late but if the 6-1/2 pound (26-inch) Speckled trout that Frank Middleton caught on topwater mirrolure Friday with Capt. Chris is any indication, I think it's happening. Usually a cold front will move through here in 24 hours or less and the fishing following the front can be fantastic. We're looking forward to those warm sunny days for some shallow water fishing.
Tommy has decided that bow hunting is more to his liking than gun hunting so if anybody wants to come fish with him this weekend (Nov. 22-25) he's open. He's also available the following weekend Nov. 30 & Dec 1. You know he loves this time of year when he can use his "Little Boat".
