An Early Fall - Sep 4, 2002

(Photo of Frank Sullivan & Redfish caught with Capt. Chris)

Capt. Chris told me last night that he is anticipating an early arrival of our fall flats fishing. (Read - They’re here!) The white shrimp have been seen about 3 weeks early and the water temperature has already begun dropping. Last week it was up to 90 degrees in the water some afternoons. If you like to catch Redfish on light spinning tackle, bait or shrimp is what’s happening right now.

This Labor Day weekend was kind of dismal here at the coast. Well, that’s what we heard anyhow. Tommy spent the weekend bass fishing some private ponds while I bream fished from the dock & watched our dogs swim. Bay fishing was a tad bit rough but do-able if you were determined, but no fly-fishing at all. Hope it was nice where you were for the long weekend!

There’s lots of scurrying around in our neighborhood these days. Everybody is getting out the camo, getting in some target practice & re-fletching arrows for the opening of various area bow seasons. In the mean time there’s plenty of fishing to be done! Tommy & Chris are open the 9th - 19th of September and for some reason Tommy is open the 2nd & 3rd weekend of October (full moon on the 21st!) We have EXCELLENT fishing here then. Chad & Jr. are booked for about half of September and weekends in October already and November weekends are starting to fill also.

I have my 2003 calendar out & have begun knocking out next year’s schedule. If you have not spoken for your days either in the Glades for snook fishing or here for tarpon, please send me an email or give me a call. Reminders will be going out to you in the next few weeks and by November I should know about any open dates. Thank you to those of you who have already contacted me about re-upping. Letters verifying those dates will also hit the US Mailboxes soon.
